Are You Fencing For Your Dogs? Think About These Things

Many people love to keep pets in their homes. You adore these creatures for many reasons. They are beautiful and offer companionship. Dogs are a particular favourite for many people, and some dog lovers would go as far as referring to them as man's best friend. Dogs will not only offer you company but will also help you secure your home. In return, you need to provide a haven for them by fencing your yard appropriately. The fence will keep your dog from straying into and out of areas that it should not be in. Additionally, fences are also necessary for complying with regulations concerning pets in homes. Here are some things you need to think about when putting up a fence for your dog:

Privacy Is Key

Your dog should not be a nuisance to your neighbours and other passers-by. The last thing you want is a lawsuit against you for a disturbance in the neighbourhood because your dog keeps barking at nearly everything it sees. You need to prioritise privacy for your dog. Keep it from seeing other animals and people so that it is calmer and less distracted.

Solid panel fences are the best way to keep distractions out of the dog's sight. You can opt for something more appealing and natural by planting shrubs and flowers on the inside line of the fence.

Dogs Can Climb and Jump

Dogs get excited at nearly everything, and they would do anything to get over whatever is stopping them. If you have a fence, rest assured that your dog would try to climb over it at some point. You can prevent this from happening in several ways. Start by going for the right height. A six-foot fence should be enough to keep any dog from jumping over to the other side. Secondly, make the fence climb-proof by eliminating anything that can help the dog climb. For example, a solid panelled fence is more climb-proof than a chain-link fence. Chain links have footholds that can help the dog to climb. If you must use them, then combine then with flat panels at the bottom.

Some Dogs Are Diggers

Dogs can create a gap between the ground and the fence by digging. This can happen over a long period when the dog digs up a spot along the fence frequently. When fencing, install some L-footers along the fence's bottom. The footers should face inwards so that the dog cannot dig the area immediately beneath the fence.
